AUSTIN -- Fresh off an NCAA Championship, Texas distance runner Leo Manzano is aiming to qualify for the United States team in the 1500 meters.

Manzano has dominated the college ranks, winning four national championships. Now he hopes that success will translate to the US Trials which start Friday in Eugene, Oregon. Manzano has already met the "A" standard time, meaning that if he
finishes in the top three at Trials, he is headed to Beijing.
