In middle school, Jorge Torres' coach asked him to write down his goals.

That meant goals for that season, goals for high school and goals for beyond. On the paper he wrote, "Make the 2008 Olympic team."

The 27-year-old Boulder runner is days away from making that a reality. Two years after winning the U.S. 10,000-meter outdoor title, Torres will be in the event at the Olympic Track and Field Trials with a trip to Beijing waiting at the finish line.
