The long run is over for Bernard Lagat and he is halfway home.

Lagat sped into the lead on the last lap and went on to win the men’s 5,000 meters in 13 minutes, 27.47 seconds Monday night during the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials at Hayward Field.
