Sean Quigley will make his professional debut in the men’s 10,000m final Friday night at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. The La Salle University grad finished his college career by placing sixth in the NCAA 10,000m championships. In April he set a personal best of 28:03.72 while winning the Stanford Invitational 10,000m. To make the Olympic team, Quigley will need not only to place in the top three, but also to lower his PR under the Olympic "A" standard of 27:50.0. Regardless of what happens in Eugene, Quigley plans to remain in the Philadelphia area and to continue working with his college coach, Charles Torpey. We talked on July 1, the first of two rest days in the Trials schedule.
