It all went according to the script Sunday for the top three finishers in the women’s 1,500 meters in the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials at Hayward Field.

Because Shannon Rowbury, Erin Donohue and Christin Wurth-Thomas had already met the Olympic “A” standard of 4 minutes, 7 seconds, they weren’t going to be the ones pushing the pace early.
