6/28/08 For six years, Jordan Kent owned Hayward Field. His mere presence at the old track for a competition was hope enough that something special was going to happen, and often it did. As a junior at Churchill High School in 2001, Kent set an OSAA Class 4A state meet record in the long jump at Hayward. The next year, he set meet records in the 100 and 200 meters.
