The president of USA Track & Field, thrilled with the reception for the Olympic Trials at Hayward Field, talked Tuesday about the possibility of bringing some international meets to Eugene, including the IAAF World Indoor Championships.

However, Eugene doesn’t have an indoor track facility.

During his “state of the sport” news conference Tuesday in Eugene, Bill Roe seemed under the impression that the University of Oregon’s proposed new basketball arena also could house an indoor track.
