6/29/08 A few days ago, sprinter Tyson Gay was telling reporters in Eugene about some technical adjustments he’s been emphasizing in his start for the 100 meters since he lost to Usain Bolt when the 6-foot-5 Jamaican set the world record of 9.72 seconds in New York last month. He said that in reviewing the race with one of his coaches, Jon Drummond, they realized that in the first 10 meters Gay had been “butt-kicking,” bringing his heels too far back instead of keeping his knees driving forward.
