Alicia Craig Shay has not yet entered the U.S. Olympic Track Trials in Eugene (the deadline is Sunday)and will apparently not be competing at the Trials. Shay is the two-time NCAA champion at 10,000 meters, fourth in the 2007 USA Nationals at the 25-lap distance, and wife of marathoner Ryan Shay, who passed away in last November's USA Olympic Marathon Trials. She was injured in April while playing with her dog in Flagstaff AZ. Sources close to Shay say she has not recovered sufficiently from that injury to feel racing fit for the Trials, but that she will continue running and competing when healthy again.
