6/27/08 Much of The Oregonian's first-day crew pulled into town yesterday for the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials, and found an excited, big-event feel pervading Eugene. There long lines to credentials and restaurants were jammed. Rachel Bachman, Doug Binder, Paul Buker and I broke bread last night with noted San Francisco Chronicle track writer John Crumpacker at an eatery next to the Willamette River near Autzen Stadium. It was very pleasant. Even the pollen count seems to be in rapid decline. Could things be turning out any better for the Eugene '08 folks? Read the full article at: www.oregonlive.com
