It was May 24, 2002, and Bishop Kelly senior Nick Symmonds had just capped his high school career with repeat 4A state titles in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 meters at Bronco Stadium.

"This is the best weekend of my life right here," Symmonds told the Idaho Statesman that day.
